MediVision group receives $2.5 million in purchase commitments
New Digital Imaging Products Released At AAO Well Received By Professional Community
Yokneam Elit, Israel , November 16, 2000. MediVision Medical Imaging Ltd. (EURO.NM: MEDV) announced that Ophthalmic Imaging Systems ("OIS") (OTCBB:OISI), of the MediVision group, received $2.5 million in purchase orders for its ophthalmic digital imaging systems during the 2000 Fall Meeting of the American Academy of Ophthalmology in Dallas, Texas, United States.
MediVision's President Noam Allon was very pleased with the magnitude of orders received and cited new OIS products which led to a considerable increase in orders received by the company in comparison with the previous year. "We believe that the significant orders received reflect our recent efforts in developing the highest resolution systems currently available and solidifying our position as the market leader in ophthalmic digital imaging,", said Noam Allon.
OIS unveiled two new digital imaging systems at the recent meeting. These products, the WinStation 1400 and WinStation 3000, both offer significantly higher resolution than the company's existing line of digital imaging products.
Jonathan Adereth, Chairman of the Board of Directors of OIS (and a MediVision Director), added, "We are very encouraged with the market's positive overall reaction to OIS at this first major trade meeting following our alliance with MediVision Medical Imaging Ltd., and in particular the favorable market acceptance of our new products. MediVision also announces that on October 30, 2000 it consummated a private placement of 60,336 of its shares at a per-share price of 3.09EUR (reflecting the average market price of the company's shares during the 30 day period immediately preceding the effective date of the placement agreement), to a Dutch investment group. These shares are subject to a gradually decreasing lock-up arrangement during a period of 8 months.
